    Biarritz is many things: Europe’s gateway to surfing in the mid-50s, a pioneer of beach tourism (they started promoting it 200 years ago!), and one of the most coveted places to see and be seen. We’ll walk along its promenade admiring the sea and its sumptuous hotels until we reach its 44-meter-high lighthouse.

A great combination tour of scenic drives, walking tours and interactive experiences. Our party of two greatly enjoyed our day with tour guides, Ania and Markel and can highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants an overview of the Basque coastal region including France and Spain. In the town of Biarritz we toured the Halles de Biarritz market and walked from the Grande Plage, through the port, Richer de la Vierge, plage du port vieux. In St. Jean de Luz we saw the market, walked along Rue Gambetta, looking at the St Jean Babtiste church and finished at Maison Adam for macaroons. We drove along the coast viewing flysch formations and we passed through Hendaya. In Hondarribia we visited la Marina with Sardara bar and had la Valenciana gelato, saw the old town with plaza de Armas and Castle of Carlos V, Sta Maria Gateare. Everything was unique and very different. It’s great to experience each one. The driver guides were extremely safe, knowledgeable, courteous, and fun! The transportation was new, luxurious and extra roomy. This was the high point of our trip to the region after a disappointing start in Bilbao (no rental car available despite a reservation for one!)

My husband and I did the private tour of the French Basque coast with Ania and highly recommend her and Ikusnahi. Communication prior to the tour was excellent, and Ania picked us up from our hotel promptly at 9. She is very personable and knowledgeable; it felt like we were hanging out with a new friend all day. Pacing of the tour was great, the vehicle was comfortable, and we saw so much in a very short time without feeling rushed or exhausted. She knows her food as well, and had excellent winery and restaurant suggestions for the next leg of our trip. We feel like we barely scratched the surface exploring Basque Country, but Ania gave us an excellent introduction to the beautiful and wonderfully complex Basque culture. We will be back, and recommend Ikusnahi to everyone.

Diego was an awesome guide! My husband and I felt so comfortable at every stop. His English (in addition to his other 4 languages) was great and his in depth knowledge of the history of the region kept us engaged the whole day. Thank you Diego!
