Matteo was an exceptional tour guide who made us feel welcomed. He was friendly, personable, and extremely knowledgeable about the history of each city in Basque Country and he explained things thoroughly. After the tour in that town, Matteo allowed ample time for shopping and made recommendations. Another asset of Matteo, he is a local of San Sebastián and is familiar with the best places to eat as well as where to go for Pintxos. Would love to visit San Sebastián again and definitely sign up for another tour with the maestro. Muchas Gracias.

My wife and I just returned from 2 weeks touring Spain to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We loved our entire time in España. We left on the highest of highs the day after thoroughly enjoying this three-town tour of French Basque country. Our guide, Matteo, was exceptional! As beautiful as each of these French communities was, Matteo's knowledge of the history of each city and his knowledge of current issues impacting the region, wove a historical tapestry which visually and emotionally carried my wife and me through time. The churches, beaches and fishermen's hand-built homes were not just structures of beauty, Matteo's telling filled these spaces with the people of the time. His storytelling and historical accounting were most captivating. The walking tour through each town was not the least taxing. Following the guided segment of each town’s tour Matteo offered us ample opportunity to wander and explore on our own as we saw fit, or to follow his lead and sample sites off the tour’s usual beaten path. The Biarritz lunch and the restaurant Matteo had arranged were impeccable – four stars. The seating he had reserved offered views of the beach and shoreline my wife and I will forever picture. Matteo’s expertise and his obvious passion for his work were coupled with a most personable demeanor, genuine warmth and curiosity regarding our interests to ensure his guidance best matched our expectations. Matteo’s tour far exceeded any of the tours my wife and I have taken in any country we have visited.
