Finally, we will arrive at the village of Potes, the capital of the region, and considered one of the most beautiful towns in Spain for its cobbled streets, stone houses, and bridges. Fabulous tour with Jairo. The cable car ride up the mountain was thrilling and the view spectacular! Franciscan Monastery was lovely with interesting history and pilgrims getting their sins forgiven. Dinner at Potes restaurant Bodega Aguilar of traditional “Mountain Stew” was mouth watering and service top notch. A full day. Jairo’s history of Asturias and recommendations were well appreciated.Highly recommend!

Carlos el guía fue inmejorable!! Atento a todo y una manera de contarlo muy entusiasta! El lugar increíble, vale mucho la pena. Solo sugiero que el tiempo de estancia arriba debe de ser mayor ya que solo pudimos estar 20 min. Por todo lo demás muy bien.

We were picked up at 9.15 am and travelled to a lovely monastery on the road to Picos. We were informed of the history of this place and the importance of it. All the way our tour guide was giving a lot of informations in Spanish and in English too. After the monastery we arrived to Picos de Europa and we took the cable car up to the top of mountain. (ticket to the cable car bit included in the tour) The views were outstanding and the weather was mild and no wind at all. Still quite a bit of snow up there. We even saw an eagle in the sky. There's a souvenir show, toilet and a small coffee shop up there. I think you can rent some ski/snow equipments there too, but we didn't have enough time and any kind of ski clothes to do so. You have lots of time here to take photos and enjoy the views. After going down back to the minibus we went to Potes. It is a lovely village, you will do hundreds of pictures here. The weather was amazing, we were wearing t-shirts in February. We had some recommendations regarding restaurants. We discovered the village and bought some souvenirs and toys for the kids. After our free time of around 2 hours the lady who I'm afraid I don't know her name, came to pick us up and gave us a walking tour. She showed us around Potes with lots of information and it was very enjoyable and knowledgeable. After an amazing long day we were dropped of I can't remember exactly what time but after 6pm for sure. If you don't want to rent a car and drive around, or just want more information of the area, or you want to improve your Spanish skills you should book this tour. I wish I could name the tour guide by her name. Thank you very much for a lovely day.
