Let yourself be surprised by the Sardinian history of 4000 years ago. The Nuraghe is a prehistoric building that exists only in Sardinia. It is made of huge stones without the use of any kind of mortar. With this tour you are going to have the chance to visit one of the oldest nuraghe of the area of Cagliari. The professional guide is going to explain you everything about how did they build it and how did they used it. The Nuragic civilization was one of the most important in the Mediterranean and beyond. We will head towards the municipality of Sarroch where the Nuraghe Sa Domu e S'Orcu is situated. The nuragic complex is located on a small hill at 107 meters above the sea level in a strategic position that gives us a unique panorama. Built around 3000 years ago is a beautiful example of a complex bilobed Nuraghe built in porphyrite, using the unique construction technique that used large blocks of dry stone without the use of mortar.

I wanted to find someone who knew something about Nuraghic archaeology and history and not just some hack guide. My travel agent found Genna tours. They argued that I should not go to Su Nuraxi but should go to Piscu because it was better preserved and would be less crowded. I must confess that i was a bit sceptical but Claudia seemed to know what she was talking about. And she was right. The site is very well preserved. Digs are still going on on the site. And it’s very quiet so you get to have a spend almost 2 hours there going over the site and with hardly anyone else there you dont get any interruptions. Claudia knows her stuff and we had some interesting discussions about various topics. If you want to learn something about this interesting civilisation book this tour

We were the only people on the tour that day so Claudia and Barbara gave us a private visit to the Nuraghe. Their knowledge and enthusiasm made it a fascinating and enjoyable experience. The site is easy to navigate for most people, just bring comfortable shoes and a hat!
