We pick up from any Hotel , Pension or Bed & Breakfast along the Coast between Swakopmund and Walfishbay
we also pick up at Walvisbay Harbor and Airport. Please advise arrival times.
On an afternoon tour we also pick up after your other activity , like Catamaran seal cruise or after Kayaking.
We start in Swakopmund .and pick up in Walvisbay 30 minutes later than advertised.

See the waves carve away the dunes at high tide where it sometimes becomes impossible to enter this beautiful and remote area. We go on a roller coaster dune ride up to the view point with absolute surprise to see the stunning views and the quiet desert ambiance. The huge sea of sand , the dunes, have that special kind of magic ...absolutely unique. Our knowledgeable guides will tell you about the desert area and skillfully drive you to the best spots. The half day tour was an interesting way to see the major sights around Walvis Bay. We met at 1200 in the designated location and our guide was there to meet us. Timing with the tides is very important so pickup times are not super flexible. We drove out along the beach to Sandwich Harbor, drove in the dunes (very fun), and then had the opportunity to explore the dunes on foot while our guide prepared lunch. We had a light lunch and drinks on the beach, and he shared some history of the area with us. Following lunch we drove back towards the city and out onto Pelican Point to see the Seal Colony. It was nice of our guide to show us since this is a famous attraction, but if you have limited time or energy I recommend skipping this part. It's a lot of driving! On our way back to the drop off point we stopped by the salt flats to see the colorful pools. It was a nice day.

We drove with Hans, an outstanding guide, along the coast and through the dunes to Sandwich Harbor. But it was far more than dunes and sea. Hans knowledge of the ecology of the area and historical references to the native San people was much appreciated. He was always on the lookout for wildlife in an area where you wouldn’t expect any and we saw jackal, oryx, steenbok, a huge cricket but we didn’t see ostrich or hyena which he said are there, too. He is an expert driver of the dunes and we were up and down some very steep inclines to get to the tops for amazing views of both dunes and shoreline. This was one of the best half day trips we have taken and we highly recommend it!

We had a great time going out to Sandwich Harbor and Hans was a terrific guide. The lunch provided was excellent! We enjoyed the roller coaster travels across the sand dunes!
