    The Orkney experience was a phenomenal trip. Skara Brae and the Ring of Brodgar were highlights, but the Norse settlement and the cliffs at Yesnaby were spectacular. Our tour guide, Graham, was informative and entertaining, professional, flexible and friendly.

    This was actually a three day tour. We met Graham in Inverness as we had an overnight stop there. Graham had brought his people carrier as there were only three of us on the tour. This made it feel like a private tour. From the off Graham showed us interesting points on the way to our ferry. There were plenty coffee and comfort stops. The journey to Orkney from Gills Bay takes an hour and we passed islands, some inhabited, others not. The ferry arrives in St Margaret’s Hope, and it was a beautiful drive through the Orkney scenery, with the Churchill Barriers and The Italian Chapel included on the way. The next day Graham picked us up at our B&B and we headed off to Standing Stones of Steness, the Ring of Brodgar, Maes Howe (which was closed) but there was a talk by one of the guides. Then on to Skara Brae and Skaill House. Graham was very knowledgeable about Orkney and pointed out some interesting areas and facts. He took us to a Broch which we had to cross a causeway to get to, luckily he had timed it right and the tide was out. Our last day consisted of travelling back home. Graham went out of his way to make sure that one of the party had a sail on Loch Ness which we thoroughly enjoyed. The last part of the trip home was a stop at Loch Lagan, again Graham was very knowledgable on the war preparations in this area. A stop at Pitlochry was welcome for lunch before heading home. Our bed and breakfast accommodation on Orkney, Heatherlea, was absolutely beautiful and we hope that Highland Experience will continue to use this for future tours. Thanks to Graham for making us feel like we were on a private tour

    Andrew was our guide he was caring,funny,entertaining,very knowledgeable with the most funny and interesting stories. All the destinations were great. Andrew was the best tour guide we have ever had, and we have travelled all over the world. The pickup in Edinburgh was very smooth. Lots of bathroom breaks, whisky tastings, photo stops and restaurant recommendations, all we needed to know for a great 5 days of touring. The only bad thing was the weather, but if you have the right clothing and footwear then its not a problem.
