My daughter and I originally planned our Scotland trip without any tour in mind. At the last minute we decided we wanted one leg of the trip to have a personal experience with someone from the area. We found Davie and Sixstar Coach Tours online and took a leap of faith. We are very glad we did. Davie first set us up with a tour guide for an afternoon in Edinburgh (Wayne) who was fabulous and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city. We walked everywhere with Wayne and had such a fun time doing so! We then toured Edinburgh and Glasgow on our own and hooked up with Davie from Sixstar Tours around day 6 of our trip. He expanded their day tour of Loch Lomond and Stirling for us to include off the beaten path stops. We took our trip in December and the rain got us one day. Davie offered options since we couldn’t make it to some of the places on our itinerary. We settled on going more into the Highlands and up to Inverness. That made our fun trip even better! We walked up snow capped hills, saw icy lochs, including Loch Ness, waterfalls everywhere, and met some very charming people. The view from Conic Hill was amazing as was the walk up to see the Glenfinnan Viaduct. Davie also took us to the Culloden Battlefield, various Outlander sites, the Falkirk Wheel, and concluded our time with him at a lovely hotel, Inn on the Tay. What a great time!
The company requires full payment upfront which made me quite nervous. But, there were no issues. The payment included hotels, with breakfast, and the tour guide’s expenses. Nothing extra was charged to the card, we received personable and friendly service, and had a fun trip. My daughter and I originally planned our Scotland trip without any tour in mind. Nothing extra was charged to the card, we received personable and friendly service, and had a fun trip. He is more of a hands-off tour guide mostly preferring to let the clients explore on their own. This wasn’t a problem for us. We had some great laughs and made a new friend.

This was a relatively small tour comprising of about 9 of us which again was quite nice, since we have been accustomed to tours of about 20 individuals or more. It can be a bit impersonal a bit mechanical. Overall the day was pleasant with sunshine, most important. One of the highlights of the drive to Loch Lomond was the playing of the song "Loch Lomond" by our experienced Driver David. There is some degree of flexibility with these small groups, quick discussion and time of stay at a particular point or diversion to other sites can be done easily. Having an experienced Driver and Guide such as David is definitely a plus - good recommendations as pubs, eating places, points of interest and of course staying safe while moving around. Loch Lomond was beautiful as expected and everyone ( not only our Group ) we saw appeared to be having a good time - must be the environment and view of this Loch. Kudos to our Driver David.
