Our cruise ship was 30 minutes late, but Go Highlands waited and sent us on our way in the private van with 5 of us. We were told ahead of time that George would be our guide, but he wasn't, unfortunately. Our guide was ok, but we couldn't hear him in the back seats, and he just didn't seem that interested. First stop was Glenmorangie Distillery, but it wasn't open yet. (You'd think the guide would have known that.) We did get to see the Millionaire's Viewpoint and lots of scenery before reaching Dunrobin Castle. It is an amazing site inside and out. Wandering throughout the castle was informative and each room was full of interesting items. The gardens are spectacular. We ended up back in Dornoch where we were left on our own to explore the cathedral and the small town area. Our guide did offer to stop by Glenmorangie on the way back to the port, but we were running short on time by then and declined. Overall, a good way to spend the time in port to see The Highlands but, to be honest, this particular private tour experience didn't compare as favorably to the many others we've done elsewhere.
