    This easy 0.25 mile boardwalk is dedicated to the stories of fossils that have been found throughout the park. During its history, what is now the park has experienced perfect conditions leading to animal, plant and insect life forms to be quickly buried in silt of mud. When these events are timed just right, bones, teeth and shells especially are preserved to provide us a window to past times. Fossil finds are active to this day.

This was a wonderful audio tour. It was interesting, intuitive and fun! We called the narrator "John McEnroe" because my daughter said that's who he sounded like or "My Guy" because I found him! Anyway, by the moving blue dot that was us, he led us to all the places we wanted to see and gave us hints and history, and options of where to go and what we would find..telling us beforehand exactly where we should turn! Honestly, if not for "John", we may have travelled many miles, ignorant of what was on the road or what lay ahead and we may have missed alot. I highly recommend if you are taking what we call a "Dirt Trip" to South Dakota and Wyoming.

This is the best $27 CDN we’ve ever spent! The audio guide is easy to use and easy to hear. The commentator tells really interesting stories in a conversational way that is fun to listen to. Honestly, I can’t say enough about this self guided tour.

So happy we purchased this tour. We were staying near the central starting point, so we drove west to Devil's Tower one day, east to the Badlands the next, and had two full days to drive around the central part of the tour. My husband and I commented many times on how much we enjoyed the commentary, how much we learned, and how many things we would have missed out on without it. The only issue we had was due to our second-guessing the tour guide regarding a turnoff. He knows what he's talking about. This tour was well worth the money, and we plan on purchasing others in the future.
