Balinese Cooking Class in Seminyak

We did this class in the morning before we flew home. A great experience. Lovely food in a relaxed environment with our chef and assistant. Highly recommended this.

Chef Putu and assistant Wisuu were brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience from going to the fish market to preparing our wonderful meal. We selected Menu 1 and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend, Thankyou Chef Putu for showing us how to cook traditional Balinese cuisine easily. We had loads of fun!

We had the pleasure of attending the Balinese Cooking Class in Seminyak as part of our stay at The Amala Boutique Retreat, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We were lucky enough to have the session all to ourselves, making the experience incredibly personal and intimate. Our chef, Kadek, and his wonderful assistant Tini were fantastic from start to finish. Kadek took us to the local market, where he explained not only the ingredients but also shared fascinating insights into Balinese and Indonesian culture. We were also provided with free cold bottled water throughout the tour and the cooking segment, which was a thoughtful touch in the tropical heat. There are different menu options to choose from, including vegetarian choices, which is great for those with dietary preferences. Back at the kitchen, the class was hands-on, fun, and really well-paced - perfect for beginners like us! Thank you to Kadek for being super friendly, insightful, patient and understanding with our amateur cooking skills. Would definitely recommend to anyone who’s interested in doing it. The amount of food we made was incredible - way more than we expected for just two people - and every dish was absolutely delicious. At the end of the class, we received printed recipes to take home, personalised certificates, and even got to keep the aprons as souvenirs. This was a truly special experience that we’ll remember for a long time. Highly recommended!
