National parks are very rarely within a city, and yet Bukhansan Mountain was designated as the 15th national park of Korea in 1983. Bukhansan National Park boasts of many gorges and granite peaks with crystal clear streams flowing between them. Hiking to the summit can be challenging and can take between 4-6 hours subject to individual pace.  Highlights • Whole day trekking in Bukhansan National Park with an experienced mountain expert. Our family’s private, guided hike with Sophia was truly the highlight of our time is Seoul and Busan. I had originally selected a more technical hike, but after meeting, Sophia suggested another route might be better based on our wishlist for the hike. The alternate route she suggested was amazing! Enough challenge to get those endorphins pumping, beautiful views, blossoms, waterfalls, etc. We also greatly appreciated Sophia sharing historical information as we value learning from local residents about the places we visit. The hike was also special as it was my birthday. Sophia was thoughtful in bringing some extra treats to share to celebrate. We enjoyed a traditional Korean lunch with a view from the top of the peak. On our hike down we greatly enjoyed visiting the temple and taking some quiet time for a bit of reflection. My only regret from our experience was not booking with Sophia for other excursions. Our family plans to visit again in the coming months and we will definitely be reaching out to Sophia for other excursions.

Wow- what a fantastic day. Prompt pickup by friendly guide. Nice car. Beautiful hike up granite rocks while viewing mountain azaleas, pretty streams, gorgeous cityscapes from above. All the while learning about life in Korea with guide who was so open to sharing his perspective and has fantastic English skills. What could be better! Hike was not as difficult as I anticipated based on the description but wear good shoes with grip.

We had the private tour with Sophia which is a wonderful guide! We had a very nice and beautiful tour and Sophia was focused on our needs and speed. We enjoyed the time very much and can recommend the hiking for everybody else even for beginners ????
