Ram Fortress, Veliko Gradiste, Serbia The guide will pick you up from your address in Belgrade at 9am (start time can be customized on request) and after two hours drive your first stop is the Ram Fortress from the XV century, built in the Ottoman times by a Turkish sultan. As you wander through its ancient walls and towers, you’ll be transported back in time, absorbing tales of its historical significance. This recently renovated fortress is yet to be discovered by travelers, so be one the first to explore this still secret gem. 45 minutes
Golubac Fortress, Golubac, Serbia Next one is the captivating Golubac Fortress. This Medieval town is placed at the entrance of the Iron Gates and touches Danube waters with part of its walls. Many legends are connected to this fortress and four of them are in relation to its name. You'll learn more about the place from your guide who will accompany you during a walk through the fortresses towers, gates and walkways. NOTE: Golubac Fortress is closed on Mondays. 60 minutes
Cara Dušana 28, Golubac 12223, Serbia After exploration of two fortresses on the Danube, it's time for a well deserved break. Lunch is planned (not included in the price) at a local restaurant on the very Danube bank. Local specialties are river fish and grilled meat dishes, but if you are a vegetarian or a vegan, there will be a choice of food for you as well. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. 60 minutes
Smederevo Fortress, Smederevo, Serbia From the Golubac Fortress, you'll return a bit back in time to the mid 15th century when the next site was founded. Smederevo fortress, considered to be one of the biggest medieval fortresses in Europe. Surrounded by two rivers and with 19 towers it was impossible to conquer. Over here you will find out how the medieval Serbian ruler balanced between raising threats - the Ottoman Empire and Hungarian Kingdom. Many national folk legends are connected with this fortress and your guide will be glad to share them with you. 60 minutes
