Given the commuting time from Seville to Grenada, this is an early starting tour. Our tour guide (Abby) and driver (Jesus) picked us up from the pre arranged hotel pick up point and everything kick started on time.
As we all began to slowly wake up after the pit stop, Abby began to give us a very interesting historical guide of Granada and Andalusia as a whole. You can tell she is very passionate about the appreciation of the history of the area and this made it more interesting to listen to and take in.
As we arrived in Granada we were able to roam freely for a while to take in the beautiful sights of the narrow winding streets and then took a short yet very interesting tour with Abby as she gave us a clear insight into how the locals live either in the town or the gypsies in the surrounding hills. It's always good to get an appreciation of the history and conflict that took place in the formation and transformation of a city and with Abby's heartfelt guide through the town, you definitely got this.
As we then arrived in Alhambra, we then got a specialist tour guide that took us through the mesmeric grounds of the palaces. This is something you have to see to fully appreciate. It really is special, especially on a clear sunny day. The only thing I think they could work on here is splitting the tour into Spanish and English as although our tour guide continuously switched from on to the other and gave a great tour, it could have flowed more smoothly if it were broken down into smaller groups where there wasn't a need to wait around for her to switch from one language to another. Having said all this, it was a great tour nonetheless.
Overall a great day and very much recommended.
