This tour takes you to visit the two main monuments in Seville: the Alcázar and the Cathedral, which are both World Heritage Sites by the UNESCO since year 1987. We will start with the Alcázar, where we will visit the palaces and have a look at the gardens. Then we will move on to the Cathedral, where you will also have the chance to climb to the top of Giralda tower after we finish!

The meeting point is in Plaza del Triunfo, right in the middle of the square, where the statue of the Virgin Mary is. 

This is a private tour so I can also pick you directly from your hotel if it is within walking distance of the monuments (if your hotel is not on the list just let me know). If you want me to pick you from your hotel please specify this when you make the booking.

We had a great tour with Sofia … she is very knowledgeable and courteous. Our visit was definitely better with Sofia as she was able to point out highlights and answer our questions. I feel like we would have been a bit overwhelmed or missed something if trying on our own, so Sofía was worth every penny. Highly recommend.

Our tour with Sofía Ventura was outstanding. Sofía started helping us before we even left for Spain. Over WhatsApp, she helped me get tickets for the Cathedral and Alcazar, and then, when I had a scheduling issue, she helped me work it out. It was also helpful to get her advice on arriving in Sevilla during Holy Week. The tour itself was filled with engaging information. Our teenaged son had no trouble paying attention to Sofía. We especially liked being able to ask whatever questions we had. Because we were curious about how the people of Sevilla relate to the Cathedral today, Sofía told us all about serving as a penitente in the Holy Week processions. It was great to get an inside view and better understanding of this unique event. The Cathedral is enormous, but I feel like we got to see all the most interesting parts. Sofía also showed us close up photos of the stained glass windows near the cathedral's ceiling, which she took herself when tasked with checking on them. (The windows don't look that big because they are so far away, but they are huge!) The Alcázar part of the tour was also excellent. It's such a cool place with Mudéjar architecture and a long history that continues today. I recommend eating right before your tour so that you're not too hungry afterwards and can take your time to enjoy the Alcázar gardens, which are extensive and beautiful. Besides being smart, friendly, speaking fluent English, and teaching us a lot about these two historic sites, Sofía also gave us recommendations on what else we would especially enjoy in Sevilla and beyond. Our vacation would not have been the same without her, and we highly recommend this tour for anyone who enjoys discovering the people and stories behind what they are seeing.
