    This is a real painting class with a professional artist. I visited the artist at their private studio, learned basic techniques and also had the opportunity to paint my own Chinese painting.

    The painting workshop was lovely--Teacher Zhang was very patient with us and is highly skilled at painting. We were able to paint peonies with no prior Chinese painting experience. Sunny was also great as a tour guide, helpful with recommendations, translation and transportation.

    This tour was terrific! Our teacher Ms. Zhang taught us about Chinese painting styles and patiently walked us through the basics of composition. We then painted some flowers to take home. As we painted, we drank tea and listed to the sounds of birds outside. It was so relaxing. We also got to see inside a French Concession row house and the Tianzifang neighborhood. Our great tour guide Annie was helpful and attentive throughout!
