    It is a venerable and famous Buddhist temple. In 1882, an old temple was built to keep two jade Buddha statues which had been brought from Burma by a monk named Huigen. The temple was destroyed during the revolution that overthrew the Qing Dynasty. Fortunately the statues were saved and a new temple was built on the present site in 1928. It was named the Jade Buddha Temple. Although the history of the Jade Buddha Temple is not very long, the old-time and classical architectural style makes it unique and inimitable in this modern city. The 118th floor of the tower has a indoor observation deck which is the world's highest indoor observation deck and called the 'Top of Shanghai Observatory'. Tourists are recommended to visit the exhibition hall on floor B1 first, and then take the express elevator to the 118th floor directly within only 55 seconds, its speed can reach 18 meters per second. Here, you have a bird’s-eye view of Shanghai.

Ik had het geluk dat ik een privé tour had met Ling (en Engelse naam Esther). Een geweldige dag door Shanghai met de metro. Ling is super enthousiast en vrolijk. Laat heel veel zien en zorgt voor een geweldige. Ling is veel meer een goede vriendin waar je mee een stad ontdekt dan een gids! Aanrader! En nogmaals dank voor een geweldige dag Ling.
