Quad biking in the sand is fun. That's easy. This could have been better managed though. It's going to seem like a negative review because there were a fair few things wrong, but ultimately, quad biking is fun.
A couple of things about the advert: it says conquer the dunes but you absolutely are not riding in dunes. It's fairly shallow sand, as shown in the photo for the advert. Also, don't think that you're going off into the desert. You're in an area that seems to have been walled off for the purposes of trips like this. Much of the time you are in sight of roads. And when the advert says that the "bedouin village" is 20km from the starting point, it is referring to the minibus pickup. You do not ride the quad bikes 20km to a village. You ride them maybe 3km (albeit with a couple of loops in there) to a couple of tents.
The equipment was of mixed quality. My helmet had no strap, my wife's had no buckles for the strap. One helmet we saw had a large dent in it. My quad bike's rear brake didn't work and when I pointed this out they said to use the front brake and the foot brake. Ultimately everything went OK, but the equipment didn't inspire confidence.
Much of the trip seems to be based around selling you photos. They start taking them when you are still in the garage and then as the ride goes on there is a photographer constantly racing ahead of you, stopping and taking photos as you go by (telling you to wave and being generally distracting) and then racing forward again. The main thing this does is make you realise that the single-file line you are riding in is going much slower than it could. At the end, they really do give it a hard sell to try to get you to buy the photos. They aren't expensive, but the staff were quite pushy for it.
First piece of advice: take a shemagh or similar scarf if you have one. And some sunglasses. There is a lot of dust thrown up. If you don't have a scarf, they will sell you one but it's cheaper to get one elsewhere and take it.
The stop at the bedouin village is pleasant enough. We did the additional camel ride (which is only a couple of hundred metres, being led by somebody, but still fun). They provide hot tea to drink but you need to pay if you want water, so second piece of advice: take either cash or some water for yourself.
All in all, there was much that could have been better and it maybe didn't quite reach my hopes, but my teenaged sons thoroughly enjoyed it and, despite the various minor gripes, you're quad biking in (sort of) the desert. Which is great fun.
