Sharm El Sheikh: Colored Canyon, Blue Hole & Dahab City Tour

Hi, returned yesterday from a very poor tour . Pretty much everything advertised wasn't true. "On a jeep tour" - it wasn't. It was a very cramped old minibus with a driver who wanted to be Lewis Hamilton! "Enjoy a BBQ buffet in a Bedouin Tent". It wasn't . It was a fly infested wooden structure with some very rude teenage boys constantly demanding money or trying to sell you something. The toilets were shocking! "Explore the coastal town of Dahab and a lively bazaar". We didn't - we drove through it to a small collection of shops where we spent nearly an hour wasting our time. "You'll have time to snorkel and see the Blue Hole. We didn't. Unfortunately the wind was blowing so the sand and the waves made it incredibly dangerous plus also there was nothing to see as there was zero visibility. This was an incredibly irresponsible part of the trip. The number of children who went snorkelling and returned in tears and angry parents was quite incredible. One day someone will die if they continue to run this incredibly dangerous activity when the wind is howling. We didn't go snorkelling but had to sit for 3 hours with no food and only able to buy expensive soft drinks. A total waste of time. Having been picked up at 0725 we didn't set off for Dahab until 0910 having spent nearly 2 hours driving around Sharm to collect passengers. The only part of this trip that was enjoyable was the Colored Canyon - The rest of it was a total waste of time, energy and money. 2 of our group were car sick on the way home because of the irresponsible driving.

I actually booked this trip on GetYourGuide however i thought due to most people being more attentive to things such as Tripadvisor, i thought i'd leave a review here too. I've read a bad review on here and i'm unsure why. The whole trip was absolutely amazing, from being picked up in the morning to being dropped off in the evening. We first went to the camel ride, this is definitely a life experience. I think doing it once is enough though as the camels are visibly maltreated and it is quite depressing. However, other than the camels being deprived and being haggled by children before getting on the camels, the rest of the trip is a life experience. We went snorkelling in the sea, you have to hire snorkelling gear if you don't already own, it is £15 per person roughly. the coral and the fish were beautiful and mesmerising. Our tour guide, whose name i unfortunately have forgotten, was amazing. After going snorkelling in the sea we went to this little shack where we were given food, the food was lovely. Once we had finished there we went to the coloured canyons, we were in the minibus for most of the way there and then we went the rest of the way in the jeep which, was super thrilling. Once getting the jeep to the coloured canyon we stayed there for a while and indulged in the beauty of the canyons. We then went back, stopped at a service station before going back to our accommodation.

Loved the tour. Very informative guide. Good range of activities. Value for.money. friendly. Wel.planned. stuck to timings. Good photograph opportunities
