    Hoi An, which is a recognised World Heritage site, located along Thu Bon River. The ancient town has remained unchanged for centuries. Hoi An used to be the international trading port of Champa Kingdom where a wide range of goods were imported and exported, including wood, gold, silk. During this period, Hoi An was the site of trade fairs that attracted lots of merchants from Holland, Portugal, Japan and China, bringing their goods and purchasing goods from the area. In the 18th century, after the river became shallow, Da Nang replaced Hoi An as the trading port.

We booked our tour through Viator. Our guide, Hung, picked us up at the pier. He was very knowledgeable about the area and spoke English quite well. He went above and beyond to make sure we go to see everything listed on the tour and even some things that were not. I especially enjoyed Marble Mountain and the city of Hoi An. In my opinion, both are a must see. I would highly recommend this tour and especially our guide, Hung.
