Sibenik is the undiscovered gem on the Adriatic coast. It is located between Zadar and Split where the Krka river goes in the sea. In the naturally protected bay, where the Croats built a fort, from which it originated this unique city. The city is unique for several reasons! Here, time seems to have stopped. Walk thru the narrow cobbled streets is like a walk through the history.  This town become famous since Cathedral of St James is listed as a UNESCO world heritage! There are few reasons for it. All about it, you will learn as you arrive here. Only 15-20 min by car ride, away from Sibenik is entrance to Krka NP. Our visit includes walking trip by most famous waterfall in a Europe. This waterfall is a composition of 17 cascading waterfalls. All together make up the "Skradinski buk" waterfall. Simple to say, it is water GAUDI.

    This oldest native Croatian city on the Adriatic is located in the most protected natural harbor in the center of the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea. This is probably in the same place where some of the original Croatian settlers first saw the blue sea. Sibenik's narrow winding streets, stony houses, many staircases and the remains of the city walls give it a romantic Mediterranean atmosphere. St. Jacob's Cathedral is the most famous building in Sibenik. It was constructed over a period of a century, and is testimony to the determination, sacrifice and belief of the generations of inhabitants of Sibenik. Discovering this city, you will feel the soul of the Mediterranean. In some parts of the old town you will have the feeling that you are back in the time of 15th or 16th century. Your will take a walk through the narrow streets of Sibenik, leading to attractive squares where you'll find architecture of centuries gone by. You'll discover details you won't find in travel brochures.

  • Skradinski Buk Waterfall, Sibenik-Knin County, Croatia
    Once in the Park, you may enjoy last set of falls, before the river meets the sea. The Skradinski Buk Fall is a spectacular multi level cascade over travertine cliffs. This waterfall is known as a most beautiful waterfall in Europe. It is 46 meters high, which makes it the highest travertine (gypsum) barrier in Europe. Above the falls is a large plateau that offers spectacular views and a perfect photo opportunity. The Krka river spills here over the 17 cascades which you can view on a leisurely and safe walk along the walking trails and wooden bridges. You'll also have a chance to visit the small ethnological exhibition and the old mill. The whole area is rich with flora and fauna. Due to strict new preservation laws, this extraordinary area has been kept in its original state. Swimming is not permitted at Skradinski buk!

Our tour of the Old Town was great and Mariana did a great job of showing us the highlights. Ana went with us to the beautiful waterfalls in the afternoon and it was not too crowded and a fairly easy walk, including the steps. A lovely mix of city and nature.
