Your private driver and official tour guidewill be waiting for you in the cruise port of Messina to kick off your private full day tour to Taormina and Castelmola. You will take the highway to Taormina and first visit the village of Castelmola (450 mt.). Amazing landscape and a great view of Mount Etna (3.330 mt. - 11.000 ft. - the highest volcano in Europe), and wonderful landscape of Giardini-Naxos bay. After visiting Castelmola we will then we drive down to Taormina. After Taormina, you will drive back to Messina. Once there you will see the church with bronze statues (King Christ church) and also a viewpoint, one of the oldest fortress in Messina, from which to see the straight and the port of Messina, and take pictures of it. We had a wonderful time in Sicily. Our guide and driver were outstanding. Our guide gave us a lot of information and history of the area and tailor made the tour for us. She also recommended a very good pizza place for lunch.
