Ragusa Ibla, Ragusa, Italy Ragusa Ibla is the ancient historical center of the city of Ragusa. It is famous throughout the world for its more than fifty churches and numerous palaces, evidence of the highest expression of the Baroque in Sicily. Located on a hill, the small village of Ibla dominates the surrounding valley, with its small houses and narrow streets dominated by the majestic Cathedral of San Giorgio, the maximum expression of the Iblean Baroque. Ragusa ibla has become in recent years one of the most important tourist attractions in Sicily.
In 2002 the city was included among the Baroque UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Val di Noto. The city has become famous over the years thanks to the television series "Il Commissario Montalbano".
