This UNESCO site is a must see while in Sicily. If you don't see anything else in Sicily, seeing these temples is well worth it. They are mostly Greek with some Roman too. Contained in this UNESCO park has temples better preserved than many in Greece. It requires a rather lengthy walk, but is worth it.

This was a brilliant archaeological site. Amazing temple ruins, crowds were low, as it is low season and a beautiful vista/views. Incredible to see the 6th century Temple of Hercules / Heracles (the oldest temple in Agrigento) and the stunning Temple of Concordia (one of the best preserved Doric temples in existence in the world and the best preserved in all of antiquity). Surprisingly, the lunch (we had 2 salads; Mozzarella, tomato, fresh greens and a sun dried tomato, caper and olive) at the cafe near the temples, were huge and very good. A long walk, 3-4 kilometres but very enjoyable. Recommended.

A 3 km long journey through time with a several temples partially standing. All Greek origin rebuilt by Romans and partially reconstructed in the 1920s. A number of water Bathhouses, sacrificial altars, burial chambers, cisterns. There is a cafe about half way so you can have a lunch or coffee. Takes a few hours to see. The best Greek ruin in Sicily apparently. Definite must see in Agrigento.
