An expert will present you in details of the process of production of the flowering plant, growing, harvesting, stem washing, extracting the fibers, spinning the yarn, dying and weaving the fabric. The Lotus Farm is a unique fair trade textile workshop in the world which manufactures lotus textiles while supporting vulnerable women. The textile is the most economical fabric in the world as it does not require any petrol, gas, electricity or any chemicals during all the process. Following a circular economy, the process uses a waste-lotus stem- and creates a new waste that is then transformed into a recycled paper. Indeed, you will also find that the lotus plant is used for its best value (lotus tea, lotus incense, lotus balm, lotus seeds mala necklace, recycled paper ...).

I recommend this activity! We learned so much about this intelligent flower, the explanation was interesting, the workshop activities were fun to do and the visit to the lotus field was just magical! Practical: you need your own transportation to the workshop place and to the the lotus fields.

Bonjour nous avons fait l'expérience de la ferme au cours de notre séjour au Cambodge et avons été subjugués tant par le lieu que l'accueil qui nous y a été réservé. Les ateliers sont très ludiques et les femmes qui y travaillent ont une dextérité phénoménale. Nous sommes même répartis avec nos créations ! La balade en bateaux est une merveille tant par son côté aventureux (il faut parfois jouer de la machette pour se frayer un chemin) que pour son côté bucolique. Et tout ça sur le lieu de travail de ces personnes admirables et totalement avenantes. Ils nous ont fait vivre en totale immersion cette expérience unique pour nous et qui est leur quotidien ! Le stress et le temps semblent avoir disparu le temps de cette expérience. L'accès aux bateaux se fait par une chemin de terre qui traverse un "village" qui nous fait vraiment ressentir l'humilité de l'être humain et nous fais vraiment sentir ce qui est important dans la vie... Nous recommandons plus que vivement cette expérience humaine et qui est animée par quelqu'un de passionné avec une abnégation sans égale! Merci, merci et encore merci ????

All of it was great but in particular the boat trip to collect the lotus flowers from the lake. It was also amazing to find out how versatile a plant the lotus is during the workshop and how every part of it can be used.
