Prasat Bakong, Cambodia Our journey out to the village takes us through small communities and we stop along the way for a tour of Rolous Market. This is a great chance to take photos of the interesting local foods and vegetables found in the more rural markets. 20 minutes
Kampong Phluk Floating Village, Siem Reap, Cambodia The Tonle Sap one of the world’s most productive bodies of fresh water. In the wet season, the Tonle Sap Lake swells to 12,000 km². During the dry half of the year, the lake shrinks to as small as 2,500 km², draining into the Tonle Sap River. Each year, millions of fish come to spawn in the seasonally flooded forest surrounding the lake, attracting a myriad of water birds as well as people, who have settled in villages along the shores and who live with the rhythm of the water. This ecosystem was classified as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1997.
Take a boat trip to ‘Kampong Phluk’ a collection of three small fishing villages in an atmospheric flooded forest setting. Cruise through the village and see unique houses on stilts, and Cambodians at work in the floating forest. Our boat will meander slowly through forest canals, allowing you to catch glimpses of flora and fauna, and see a truly beautiful eco-system. 180 minutes

A great trip made excellent due to our kind and knowledgable guide Pheap. Added colour and context to our private tour of the fishing village Kompong Phluk.
March is dry season and it would be even more fascinating in the wet no doubt. Any excuse to come back to friendly Cambodia! Relatable as it was a town like any other in the way it functions. A very different way of life and good to support back into the community as this company (run out of Kompong Phluk) does according to Pheap.
Would definitely recommend these for this tour and others.

A very enjoyable trip by van to the dock and then a boat ride through the river and fishing village and flooded forest to Tonle Sap lake. Once again the tour guide, Sayrika, was informative and it was great to see more of the beautiful country of Cambodia. (This would be a great trip if you are traveling with children who are bored of the temples).
Highly recommend Journey Cambodia tours.

We had a half day tour guided by Mr. Chhay. He gave us a lot of information and impression about the importance of the lake and the life aside the lake. It's not only the facts presented in very good English but also the background knowledge that impressed me and my colleagues very much.
