    TRADITIONAL WATER BLESSING Water blessings are a traditional Cambodian practice that date back to ancient times. The blessings take place in an ancient pagoda in the countryside, just south of Siem Reap. Receive a blessing of your own during this 1-hour water blessing experience at the Wat Arang Pagoda. Choose from 2 forms of blessings from the monks living at the pagoda. The first begins with the monks chanting harmoniously as they wish you good luck, safe travel, and a long life. It is accompanied by a light sprinkling of water. The second is a longer ritual which involves vessels of blessed water being poured over your head while the monks chant. For this ritual, you will be provided with a sarong to change into so that your clothing remains dry. At the end of the blessing, your wrist is adorned with special red ties that signify the blessing performed.

Ein wunderbares Erlebnis war diese Tour. Wir wurden pünktlich abgeholt und nach einer kurzen Fahrt mit dem Tuk-Tuk haben wir zuerst einen kleinen touristenfreien lokalen Markt besucht. Dann ein kurzer Spaziergang zum Kloster. Die Zeremonie wurde bei uns von einem älteren, sehr freundlichen Mönch durchgeführt und war durchaus spirituell. Unser Guide Lim hat uns dieses Land mit seinen freundlichen Menschen, auch durch seine tiefgehenden Kenntnisse der Religionen, ein gutes Stückchen näher gebracht auf dieser kurzen Tour. Danke dafür

The guide didn’t show up. If we knew we would be stood up, we would have chosen another guide or tour. It is unacceptable just not showing up nor answering the messages.

This was a truly wonderful experience. It was very unique, and my guide was very thorough. I chose the water blessing tour, which included transportation via tuktuk, a stop in a market where I got to sample fare, and ultimately a visit the the monastery where the water blessing took place. I highly recommend adding this tour if you find yourself in Siem Reap.
