Zap. Ppppfft. And there goes one of the best historical tours ever. I was lucky enough to be on the very last tour of Fort Canning as conducted by Helena from Original Walks of Singapore. And what a gem it was. Starting from the 14th century early history of Singapore, the tour covered centuries of change. But the real gem is the abilty to go underground to the WW2 Command Centre and discover what happened in the last days of the Fall of Singapore. I loved the ability to ask questions and Helena's witty and whip smart delivery style. Such a shame that Original Walks of Singapore will not be leading this incredible tour any more. Apparently the fort will undergo some repairs/changes (who knows it might end up being push button electronic learning ... aghhhhhh, another way to kill off connections).

Loved this tour. It it a good blend of the history of the Fort Canning area - which has been significant in the development of Singapore - and of the Battlebox and story of the fall of Singapore. Thank you Helena for being so informative, your enjoyment of your role of tour guide shines through! I would highly recommend this tour.
