You will have around 40 minutes free in the historic center area to discover the town and also have the opportunity to taste the cheesecakes and pillows of Sintra. visit to the wonderful Monserrate palace, a masterpiece of Romanticism with lush gardens. This magnificent palace in Monserrate received varied species of trees from the four corners of the world, which were organized by geographical areas, reflecting the different origins of the plants and composing scenes along paths, among ruins, corners, lakes and waterfalls. This is so, mainly thanks to the intervention of landscaper William Stockdale, botanist William Neville and master gardener James Burt but, above all, to the romantic spirit of Francis Cook. We visited Monserrate Palace as our final stop during our round trip of Sintra's palaces. Monserrate Palace grounds were leafy and cool, and the palace interior was beautifully designed, although small. The only disappointment was the rose garden, which was empty due to being out-of-season.

Паласио-де-Монсеррат с тремя башнями — самое яркое здание Синтры, вдохновленное исламской архитектурой и идеалом симметрии. Внутри изысканно тонкая решетчатая резьба, геометрические узоры и ощущение присутствия в какой-то роскошной ближневосточной обстановке. Главное здание может быть какофонией экзотических идей, но сад — это маленький кусочек Англии в приятном климате Португалии. Вилла была заказана англичанином сэром Фрэнсисом Куком, и он хотел, чтобы вокруг его виллы был сад в классическом английском стиле. К вилле ведет формальная лужайка, красивый розарий и ботанический сад, состоящий из 1000 различных видов.

Il palazzo più romantico di Sintra: Palacio de Monserrate Il Palazzo è immerso in un enorme parco botanico con tante specie di piante provenienti da tutto il mondo. Il palazzo in stile romantico non è particolarmente grande ma è singolare e bello. Anch’esso considerato patrimonio mondiale. Serre, ponti, statue, cascate, archi, stagni e fontane nel parco di Monserrate non manca proprio nullla.
