Sintra, Roca Capa, Cascais and Estoril - Private Tour

WONDERFUL!!! A group of 6 did 2 tour days with VanGo Tourism. Margarida was so responsive and helpful with our planning. We were able to customize the tours. She also helped us with finding a mass on Easter Sunday, which was one of our tour days. We had Susana as our guide on both days and she was fabulous. A friend by the end. For our first tour we went to Sintra, Cascais, Estoril coast, and sights in Belem. There was the strike in Sintra on our tour day. We toured the town and were able to go to Quinta de Regaleira- which was fabulous. Susana got us there early and gave us a great tour. The beaches, coast and Belem were also wonderful. Our second day was our transport from Lisbon to Porto with stops in Obidos, Nazare, and Fatima. Again, Susana's knowledge, enthusiasm, and love of the country was phenomenal. It was a comfortable ride and she was able to fit all of our luggage in the vehicle - which was no easy task;) Susana also took us to wonderful places for lunch. Excellent call by Susana to get us to the Pena Palace by 9am.! Afterwards, the lines were so long and would have ruined the experience for us. She gave us details of the palace's history as well as the growth of the surrounding Sintra area. Lunch in the village and the delicious pastry treats were a definite plus (as well as meeting Margarida from Van Go). The lighthouse, the beach drive, and coastline sights were wonderful - thank you Van Go and Susana for a great day! Patrick and Betsy Organ

I would like to highly recommend Susana of VanGo Tourism for your tour guide when visiting Portugal in general and our day at Sintra did not disappoint. As a group of six, Susana picked up us bright and early so that we arrived at Pena Palace for the first tours up. Thank goodness she knew what she was doing because the Palace was so crowded later on! The scenery in the park is stunning with all the different trees and fauna. Susana guided us through the palace with all the history we could ask for. (Other tour guides merely read the displayed materials). We toured the park afterwards -- kudos to Susana's driving as some of those streets are SO narrow. We had a great lunch in Sintra, did a little shopping, then went on to enjoy the scenery of Cape Roca, the westernmost point of Portugal and all of Europe! Then on to the sites of Cascais and the Estoril coast as we worked our way home, while being informed of all the historic sites along the way. A word about Susana here; it was like touring with a knowledgeable good friend; she keeps a well stocked cooler to keep us hydrated, and even went way beyond to treat us with the most delicious pastries I have ever had! Thank you for everything Susana!
