How was a phenomenal guide. His knowledge of every place we went was great. This is what a private tour should be

We had a private tour, just my wife and I. Our driver picked us up on time and he was very accommodating. I wouldn't classify him as a guide, as he didn't know a lot of the history. But we liked him very much. Before going to the Pena Palace he stopped for coffee; we had already had ours. But he bought us a package of Sintra sweet tarts. They were very tasty. The plan was to spend two hours or so in the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle. However, travel and crowds (fairly light, actually) carved out a lot of time. So much so we didn't have time for the Castle. However, he did offer to stay longer and make stops at other sights in Pena Park. We wanted to get back by 5 so we opted to move ahead. We visited Cabo da Roca which was stunning and other sights along the coast. We stopped at a marina for lunch and it was terrific. Our driver brought his own lunch but we insisted he join us. He did and we learned a lot about him, his family and modern Lisbon. We only drove through Cascais, we didn't stop, which I thought was part of the itinerary. But is was not quaint or "seaport-y". It was pretty modern so I'm not sure we missed much. We ended up having more time than planned so our driver took around Lisbon and showed us neighborhoods and possible visiting sights. Very nice on his part. All in all, we enjoyed the day.
We always double-check the availability with our local partners for each booking. Even though this is usually a swift process, it can take up to 24 hours. Once this process is completed you will receive your voucher or ticket by email. If our local partner is not able to confirm your booking we will offer you the best possible alternative. If the new date and/or time doesn’t fit your itinerary, we will reimburse the full amount paid.
