    The Uffizi Palace was commissioned by Cosimo I de' Medici and designed by Vasari (16th Century). It has a unusual U shape, which is closed towards the Arno. The two wings of the palace are connected by a corridor with six big arched windows, facing the Arno and the inner courtyard. Nowadays the building hosts the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most visited museums in the world, collecting masterpieces from the 13th to the 18th Century. The very beginning of the Uffizi Gallery was the collection of Francesco I de' Medici; The collection became “public and inalienable good” thanks to Duchess Anna Maria Luisa de' Medici whose will it was that it would be open to the public forever. Today, the Uffizi Gallery is one of the most important museums in the world, with new acquisitions and gifts. Using the elevator at the entrance of the museum is reserved for people who have special needs – including temporary – and the maximum capacity is 6 persons at a time.

    Confirmed our reservation on April 28th for two tickets at 2:30 PM on May 27th. Got an email on May 24th saying our tickets are ready. Then on May 26th at 12:25 PM we get this message: “Given the great demand for the date you have booked and considering that the bookable availability changes very quickly, we have tried so far but unfortunately it was not possible to confirm your visit at the indicated time. In order to avoid distorting your itinerary our order will be canceled. Please, in order to be refunded contact Viator directly asking to be TOTALLY REFUNDED to your credit card We apologize for the inconvenience and for the short notice. best regards, Maria” It is May 29th and we aren’t refunded, nor have we been able to be refunded Also we found out it’s a total rip off because the tickets are only 30 Euro each

    Booked almost 4 months before visit. Charged my credit card and received a confirmation. Never received tickets. Emailed several times. Finally two days before they responded and said they could not get admission and cancelled. Told me to contact Viator for a refund. Plenty of other tickets online for that day. A scam?

    Booked thro trip advisor with Weekend in Italy. No one at attraction to meet us. Location to meet did not exist and when a very nice member of staff from the attraction called the number for Weekend in Italy for us it didn't even connect. Ended up having to buy another ticket. DO NOT BOOK WITH WEEKENDIN ITALY. All that said the actual gallery is amazing..... if you like statues of naked men
