The British Music Experience tells the story of British Music through costumes, instruments, performance, and memorabilia from the Beatles to Adele, and Oasis. The temporary exhibition, Girl Power! Spice Girls at 30* is on until 16 March 2025. The exhibition tells the band’s story through outfits from the extraordinary collection of independent curator Liz West, who is the foremost collector of Spice Girls memorabilia and merchandise in the World. The outfits on display will be complemented by audio visual elements, including a stage show montage of Spice Girls hits and listening stations. *Girl Power - Spice Girls at 30 is a collectors event and not an official Spice Girls exhibition.

My wife and I went to the museum last week for the first time. It has a range of music covered and has a Live Aid exhibit right now. Definitely check it out especially anyone who grew up at this time. In the exhibits, there are clothing from various artists and handwritten notes. You can sing in a voice booth or play instruments. Fun for music lovers or history. Highly recommend.

A very bitter disappointment, do not bother going unless you are studying music or a Bob Geldof fanatic or you have enough money to waste!! £42 for a 10 minute experience with technology that doesn't work!!!! Its one tiny room with a couple of outfits in. Been fighting for at least a partial refund as it was just extortionate to be told its for charity when actually "very penny of your entry price goes into supporting British music by maintaining and improving our collection and supporting our charitable aims, including subsidising our wonderful education programme and supporting budding British artists." Doesn't sound very charitable to me!! Save your money and go to the Cavern Club or even better a free museum that's 4 storeys high is more enjoyable and you can make a donation only if you want to!!!

We went here after a personal recommendation and it didnt disappoint. Plenty for me to read about the history of music in Britain from the early 1900s to present day. Lots of memorabilia to view for each era and the instrument area was amazing with my 14 and 9 year olds loving playing guitars, drums and even a singing booth. The staff were tremendous and with the ticket lasting a year, we are already planning our next visit.
