The American Prohibition Museum, located in Savannah's City Market, is the first and only museum in the United States dedicated to the history of Prohibition. While here, guests will travel back in time to the early 1900s, as anti-alcohol rallies swept the nation and the “booze problem” was pushed to the forefront of American politics. The true story of America’s struggle with the liquor question, the passing of the 18th Amendment, its impact on the nation, and the far-reaching consequences of the 13 years of Prohibition all come to life within the walls of the American Prohibition Museum.

This attraction is a nice way to spend a leisurely 2 hours. The most engaging parts of the experience are interacting with the costumed staff and sampling the vintage cocktails. Those in costumes were friendly, happy to interact, and answered questions. The bartender was truly gifted - she shook the cocktail shaker in one hand and opened a bottle of bubbly with the other.

One of the coolest museums I have ever been too! The museum was cool in itself, small with lots of information, photos, and replicas. Really well done! But the coolest part is the speak easy bar in the middle! The drinks are so cool, we each had 2 and left a bit tipsy! Lucky for them we found our way to the gift shop and worked off the buzz! Very cool and would definitely recommend!

Interesting history on a subject you don’t see a lot of in museums. The entire museum is transported back to prohibition era including the workers dressing in time-period clothing. There is a a lot of information to read and tons of artifacts. Took us about an hour and that was without reading everything or staying a while at the speakeasy. We went on a rainy week day and it was pretty crowded so keep that in mind. Not sure if children can go. We didn’t see any. All adults. They checked our IDs at the museum entrance. All in all a good experience and something different than the usual museum.
