During our ART & CACAO TOUR you will discover the secret corners and murals of Oaxaca in Jalatalco and Centro areas. Meeting and mingling with the artists in their studios and galleries you are embedded into the magical Oaxaca art scene. As you soak up the back stories behind the murals you gain a deeper insight and understanding. Inspired by their stories there is then the chance to create your own print in a studio and bring your artwork home with you. Finally during a cacao tasting in centro we sample the decadent delights of Oaxaca's chocolate beverages. Note: This tour is supporting the project "Grafica Siqueiros" for art workshops in jails of Oaxaca. Donation included in the price.

We had a great time with Margo. She is very knowledgeable about the art scene and the different techniques used by the artists. First, we were given some background on the popular local art, and then we walked the streets to view art and stopped at a few galleries. We even got to print our own lithograph to take home, very fun. At the end we learned about cacao and had a tasting of the four different varieties. The shop owners were very knowledgeable and passionate about their cacao project. We really enjoyed their presentation and tasting. If you are interested in the local art scene, this is a great tour not to be missed.

This tour was the highlight of our Oaxaca visit so far! So much packed into one tour, yet at a leisurely pace. Our guide, Margaux, was so knowledgeable, pleasant, and fun. It is more like 5 1/2 hours rather than 4 or 5 so eat a good breakfast beforehand. My husband and I highly recommend this tour!
