    The tour starts at 12;30 from Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. Your guide will take you around all of the interesting sites in the center of Sofia- the Cathedral, the Basilica, the Presidency, the Roman heritage, and others- and will tell you about their history as well as about the overall history of Sofia and Bulgaria. While you enjoy the sightseeing tour, your guide will also take you to some ‘hidden’ places, which you will hardly find on your own. In these places you will have the chance to try some of the most famous Bulgarian drinks and foods such as: “ayran”- salty yogurt drink, “banithsa”- pastry with white cheese, “shopksa salad”- the traditional Bulgarian salad with tomatoes and cucumbers, local “meze” (salami), home-style bread and some sweets like “baklava”. This tour is a great chance to learn more about the history of the town and to try the local foods and drinks.

Really enjoyed the tour we did around Sofia. Our guide Peter was very friendly and really knowledgeable, with lots of information on the history of the city, taking us to some unique sights. He was open to adjusting the tour depending on what we preferred to do. The food tastings were excellent (3 different food stops, one including a larger tasting platter and beer for lunch). Would very much recommend.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour! It is a relatively new offering of the company so there were some small kinks, but overall, everything went smoothly. Our guide was very knowledgeable and our tour was filled with intresting information. It was, we were told, similar to the regular walking tour - but with food! Trying typical Bulgarian foods added a fun dimension to seeing the sights, and it also allowed us a couple of chances to rest and get out of the July heat! Come hungry!
