The 428 meter-long street stretching from the Buyeong Theater in Nampo-dong to the overpass in Chungmu-dong was divided into “Star Street” and “Festival Street,” and on the eve of the festival each year the “Ground Opening the BIFF Square” is held on the street. During the ceremony events such as the hand printing of famous movie celebrities and Nunggot Jeomdeung (snow-flower lighting) take place.

Our Busan tour was excellent! Our guide, Mina, was easy to find in the terminal and the six of us immediately got going in a very nice, large van driven by Kim, who was extremely helpful and an outstanding driver. Mina’s English was excellent and she explained the plan for the day and asked for any group input so as to fine tune our itinerary. Our various stops were interesting and well explained, plus she led us to the most accommodating routes, often avoiding the larger crowds. She inquired of our lunch preference and then arranged reservations at a very nice Korean barbecue restaurant. It was a busy seven hour tour and a great experience.

I am giving this tour three stars despite it being horrible. Our tour was on a Sunday and traffic almost everywhere was bumper to bumper. Our tour guide, Bonita, tried hard but ultimately the traffic is what it is.

This was a great tour with a wonderful guide, Susan. She did an excellent job showing us Busan. Even in the pouring rain she managed to get us to the Haedong Yonggungsa cliff-side temple - a remarkable site. We saw the UN Memorial site for the Korean War and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant. The Busan Tower was a great place to take in the views of Busan. Overall, Susan did a wonderful job with our group. Why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5: The tour operator, Here Korea Travel, did not allow for the significant differences between our group and the group we were paired with. The group we were paired with had significant mobility issues and the weather exacerbated those difficulties. They indicated, more than once, that they thought they were on a shopping tour (which is clearly not the case from the tour’s description). They would have been happier on a different tour. I don’t know where the breakdown occurred but it made the tour difficult. As bad as the rain was it was amazing to me that the driver could not get any closer to the sites to drop us off before parking. Perhaps that’s not the way things are done in Busan. Our group enjoyed the sites and loved Busan. Susan did a great job with the two different groups.
