My parents and I booked Bernard for a 5-hour tour split across two days. Since my parents are in their 70s, I was very intentional about finding a guide who could show us the historical highlights of Rio and keep a comfortable pace. Bernard didn’t meet our expectations....he far exceeded them.
From the very beginning, he was incredibly open to our ideas and transparent about what would work best for us. He worked with me weeks in advance to thoughtfully design an itinerary that showcased the beauty and history of Rio without ever feeling rushed. His deep knowledge of the city was clear from the moment we met him. As someone who grew up in Rio, he could answer even our most detailed questions with ease and enthusiasm.
Bernard was consistently mindful of the pace, especially during walking portions, and he planned the timing of each stop perfectly. He even adjusted which days we visited certain attractions based on the weather so we could have the best experience possible.
His communication throughout the entire process was fast, organized, and extremely helpful. He sent the initial itinerary within just a few hours, checked in regularly, and his English is excellent.
Overall, you would truly be missing out on an amazing guide if you don’t book with Bernard. He is professional, knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely cares about creating the best experience for his guests. Thank you, Bernard, for helping us fall in love with Rio.
With love, from Canada!
We had the absolute pleasure of spending two unforgettable days in Rio de Janeiro with our phenomenal tour guide, Bernard. He is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also highly educated, with a psychology degree and the rare talent of speaking three language, Portuguese, English, and French with total ease.
From start to finish, Bernard curated our experience with impeccable taste, He introduced us to the soul of Rio, sharing historical details, cultural context, and thoughtful commentary everywhere we went.
He took us to all the iconic sites, including Christ the Redeemer, with the stunning Sugarloaf Mountain and Rio’s extraordinary modern cathedral, the Metropolitan Cathedral of São Sebastião, built in 1978, with unique architecture and spectacular floor to ceiling stained-glass walls.
Our experience continued with the breathtaking Tijuca National Park, the serene Botanical Gardens, beautiful mountain trails, and the refreshing waterfall tucked inside the lush forest. We also visited the world famous Escadaria Selarón, with its vibrant and colorful mosaic tiles and more…
Bernard worked seamlessly with excellent and very professional bus drivers, making our journey smooth and comfortable at every moment.
We learned so much, saw so much, and most importantly, felt deeply cared for throughout the experience. Bernard is truly exceptional—a guide who combines education, cultural passion, and heart. We could not recommend him more highly.
Bernard deserves 5 stars!
Sincerely
The Captain!
