Unfortunately, it was not a good experience for me. Although I was scared at first, the activity described was "baptism dive" and they had very good reviews, so it gave me confidence.
Although they were very patient in teaching me (approximately half an hour) when I was able to really dive and was doing it calmly, my oxygen began to run out. I am 100% sure of this, as I was very calm at the time and suddenly less oxygen began to come out of the equipment, so I asked the guide to go up. When I started to go up I could hardly breathe anymore, so I began to despair and swallow water. I thought I was going to drown.
When I managed to get out, I explained to the guide that the tank no longer had oxygen, to which he replied that he had "little" left.
Once on the boat I asked them about this situation, to which they replied that when oxygen is running out it costs much more to breathe. Nobody explained this to me before doing the activity, so when it happened to me I panicked. Both the guide and his group of friends downplayed the situation. It seems to me too negligent that they have not checked if the tank had enough oxygen left to dive, nor that they have explained to me what I should do in case of running out of oxygen
I clarify that the guide does not speak any Spanish and I highly doubt that he speaks fluent English, and although we were accompanied by a diver who spoke rudimentary Spanish, she is not a guide and in fact she confessed to us that she had not dived for more than 5 years. Given the complexity of the activity, I would not recommend that anyone who does not speak Portuguese take it.
The service is extremely expensive for what is offered, the guide, despite being patient and a good diver, is not professional, he did not clearly explain the dangers and what to do in an emergency, in addition to the fact that the activity is supposed to It came with food included, when I finished diving, there was very little food left because the diver's friends ate practically everything that was supposed to be for us.
We present all this information to the Viator team, who make it clear to us that if the local tourism company does not want to return the money, they cannot do anything about it, so I would not hire a service through Viator or Tripadvisor again since They are not responsible if an emergency occurs.
