Enjoy close the natural diversity of Rio de Janeiro. Begin your tour at the Botanical Garden (options with and without tickets included) and visit the Sensory Garden, the Brazilwood (tree that gives name to the country), the Turtle Lake and the lake with the giant-water-lily. Walk through the bicentenary imperial palm trees as you go to the orchidarium and bromeliad house. Then, visit the Vista Chinesa gazebo (on Saturdays and Sundays will be off the route as vehicles are not allowed) and enjoy a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro. In a distance, you can also see Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf. Follow to an adventure at Tijuca National Forest, one of the largest urban forest in the world. Observe the Taunay Waterfall and walk through a simple trail as you learn more about the Atlantic Forest, its flora and fauna. Get back to the vehicle and pass by the famous São Conrado beach to observe the hang gliders and paragliders, before returning to the hotel through a panoramic route.

 We are happy to have seen this area of Rio and enjoyed the ride. (The backseat of the bus is unlucky--views are really limited.) The tour overall was a little long and the botanical garden could have been more pleasant with the option of a golf cart or trolley...when it ended, we were not sorry! Three other people in our group opted out of the garden segment due to issues with walking in the heat and humidity. But there are unique things to see here. The Chinese View overlook is extraordinary on a clear day! Probably would not hold a lot of interest for kids. We saw some huge fish and a couple of lizards, but sadly few birds or other wildlife. If you have time and interest in nature, this is an interesting tour, and the operator is very organized and reliable! Our guide, Newton, was personable and informative. We are grateful to him for a terrific restaurant recommendation! Pro tip: Don't forget bug repellent!

Hicimos esta actividad con la guía Alexia. Todo fue una gran experiencia. La organización, los tiempos y el bus cumplieron con todo lo ofrecido. La guía fue un gran apoyo para comprender lo que se estaba observando y para disfrutar la experiencia, debido a que, incluso ayudaba al grupo con las fotografias.
