Get to understand Brazilian history and the importance of coffee in this unique tour. We take you to an authentic farm that has maintained most of its structure as it was back in the colonial times. We leave Rio de Janeiro city and head to a region known as the Coffee Valley. The Coffee Valley takes you back to the past with its country coffee farms dating as far back as the nineteenth century. You can also buy it and bring some of it home. Tour guide, tickets to the Coffee Farm and roundtrip transfer included.

  • We visit one of two famous Farms in the Coffee Valley: Fazenda da Taquara or the Fazenda São Luiz da Boa Sorte. Contact us in advance if you wish to confirm which one we visit on the day of the tour.
  • Duration of the transfer from Rio to the Coffee Farm: approximately 2 hours.
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 19 travelers per Minivan.
  • Minimum of 2 people are required for this activity to take place. Otherwise, the tour may be rescheduled.

Wonderful trip to this small coffee plantation with the original colonial house. Our guide , Monica, was really knowledgeable about the history of the country, slavery and plantations. We all really enjoyed meeting Marcelo and his wife and learning about the coffee growing and harvesting process.

La excursión es espectacular. Se aprende mucho, tanto del café como de la historia de la Hacienda y de Brasil. Recomiendo muchísimo hacer esta excursión por todo lo que se aprende y por lo diferente que es a otras excursiones en rio.

Visitar uma fazenda de café é uma experiência cultural maravilhosa que mexe com os nossos sentidos e imaginário. É como se estivessemos numa telenovela histórica com barões de café, escravos, vida social do sec.XIX ... A Fazenda da Taquara é singular, pois somos recebidos e guiados pelo proprietário Marcelo, sexta geração da mesma família e que nos conta a história do lugar com muito orgulho. A esposa Cleide é uma simpatia e presenteou-nos com um delicioso bolo de milho e goiabada caseiros ( a minha filha mais nova devorou metade! Peço perdão!????). O café é especial e premium. Tudo feito com muito amor e dedicação. Esse lugar merece ser conhecido e divulgado. Trouxe comigo café, mas quando terminar ficarão as minhas recordações dessa fazenda encantadora. Não posso também deixar de agradecer à guia Mónica Bertazzolo que foi incansável em contar-nos a historia do café do Brasil e dos escravos que trabalhavam nas fazendas. Tem um grande conhecimento sobre a odisseia dos escravos. É uma pessoa maravilhosa que recomendo solicitem para este e outros passeios culturais no Rio. Estou muito grata por ter escolhido este passeio. Encheu a minha alma e foi o melhor de muitos que fiz.
