    Originating in the Mao’er Mountains, the Li River was once one of China’s most important waterways, connecting the Yangtze Valley with the Pearl River Delta. Flanked by green karst hills, your tour today will get you out onto the water on a private kayak tour with an expert guide. The kayak tour lasts approximately 3-4 hours including transfers to and from Yangshuo Town. Once you have collected your kayak equipment, you will paddle along easy routes, traveling downstream. Set off from the ancient and peaceful town of Shazi near Yangshuo. Paddle your way south to Shazi bridge. Although the karst formations rise less dramatically as the section between Yangdi and Xingping, this stretch of river is beautifully serene and suffers very little traffic. It is also an excellent opportunity to watch rural riverside life as fisherman work their nets and farmers bring their water buffalo to the river to feast on the water and reeds. Itinerary: 9:00--10:00: Yangshuo/Guilin hotel pick up & transfer to the Shazi town. 10:00--12:00: Enjoy the Kayaking tour at the river. 12:00--13:00: Back to Yangshuo center. 13:00--14:00: Have a lunch at West street. 14:00--14:30: Back to the Yangshuo or Guilin hotel.

We did the following activities on a day trip out of Guilin: 1) Xianggong mountain scenic spot 2) Bamboo raft ride down the river 3) Quick stop to see the kumquat / mandarin plantations 4) Yangshuo West Street stop 5) Liu Sanjie show The good - Andy speaks excellent English and is a very safe driver - Comfortable and clean SUV type vehicle - Punctual and efficient - Can answer basic questions and provide some interesting anecdotes of the places you visit or see along the way - His itineraries gave us sufficient time at each location without anything feeling rushed - the stop at the orange farm was nice little unexpected touch which our young kids enjoyed immensely - no forced trips to shops etc What you don’t get - someone who will be with you every step of the way and give you detailed and exhaustive histories and information Because the above is exactly what we anticipated and needed - we felt his services were excellent.
