Who says you need to travel for hours and hours for good snorkelling? Spend a day exploring the underwater world of the Khao Lak coastline with the people who know it best. Our local reef & deserted beach trip is perfect for those who want experience amazing snorkeling without the crowds. In recent years the popular Phi Phi, Similan and Surin Islands have seen a massive rise in the number of tourists visiting every day. Here in Khao Lak we are lucky enough to have beautiful local reefs along our coastline. Our local snorkelling trip is flexible and surrounded by beautiful scenery.

We pick up from all hotels in the Khao Lak area. Pick up times may change depending on the tides.

  • Service animals allowed
  • Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap
  • Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • In the event that it is not possible to snorkel due to unforeseen sea or weather conditions, an alternative program will be offered.
  • The best time for snorkeling in Khao Lak is from November to April. Mid-May until mid-October is the monsoon season in Thailand.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Absolutely breathtaking, with such care and attention from our guide, Mhan, and the boat crew. We opted for the private tour, which was exceptional. Our tour guide took pity on the useless swimmers, getting in the water, even giving us a tour of the reef and the fish, pointing out the unique sights. We had a lovely lunch at the beach, with toilet and shower facilities, and had refreshments throughout the whole tour, finishing off with a cold face towel. The boat crew was so good helping us up and around the boat.

Fantastic trip and highly recommended! We didn't want to spend hours on a boat with our 8 year old going to the more crowded places like Surin or Similan so this was the perfect day trip for us. Pick up on time at 9.30am, then 20 mins to the pier and another 30 mins on the long tail boat (very calm and no sea sickness!) to our snorkelling spot. Snorkelling was amazing and we saw lots of coral and fish. Another 30 mins on the boat to the beach which was beautiful and not crowded at all, plus lunch was delicious. Our guide Air was fabulous and looked after us so well and made our day so special. We also loved the focus on the environment and the "take only pictures and leave only footprints" mentality - we each got our own refillable water bottle and everything brought on the trip was taken back again leaving no rubbish at the beautiful locations. If I could give the experience more than 5 stars I would. Will definitely go again when we return to Thailand in future.

We wanted a quicker (30 minutes boat travel vs 90 minutes (each way)) snorkeling adventure, which also allowed us to depart at 930 am vs the (for us) insanely early 5am 6am 7 am start times elsewhere. We had a fantastic day snorkeling, saw a ton of fish, probably 30 different types, for about 45 minutes then were off to beach swimming and lunch. Our guide AIR, she was wonderful, super helpful and great smiling positive energy all day. Definitely recommend this quicker snorkeling adventure, with just enough to have a fantastic time.
