Ever since Roger Moore filmed on the island in the early 1970s, tourists have flocked to witness first-hand impressive rock formations and to re-live some of their favorite scenes amongst the beautiful back drop of Phang Nga Bay. - Leave from your hotel in a comfortable minibus and take a scenic drive into Phang Nga valley. - Visit one of the most famous cave temples in Phang Nga. - Leave Phang Nga town with a traditional longtail boat and out through one of the largest native mangrove forests in Thailand. - Cruise through the caves and beautiful limestone mountains that make up Phang Nga Bay. - Stop for a walk and a swim at the famous James Bond Island. - Take a stroll around the stilted fishing village and enjoy a delicious dinner overlooking the bay. - Cruise back to the pier as the sun sets over the bay and return to your hotel.

    Panyi village is a Muslim stilted fishing village in the middle of the bay. Originally floating, this village is inhabited by the decedents of nomadic travelers who settled in the bay many years ago. After a quick look around the village, this is the perfect place to stop for dinner.

We zouden dit iedereen aanraden, ondanks de lange rit erheen en de korte stops ter plekke. We hadden een leuk klein groepje, en onze gids, ChingChing, was een schatje. Ze bleef ons maar voorzien van water en cola. Daarnaast vertelde ze over alles waar we langs reden en gaf ze antwoord op al onze vragen. De boottocht naar James Bond Island was leuker dan het eiland zelf; de souvenierverkoopsters zijn erg opdringerig en soms zelfs agressief. Beetje jammer. Het eten op Koh Paniyee was echt heerlijk! Mooi om te zien dat men op dit stukje zee een zelfvoorzienende gemeenschap heeft gecreëerd. Moe maar voldaan en vol indrukken zijn we hotelwaarts gegaan. Het was een topdag

Great day out. We chose the later start to avoid the busier morning at JB Island and to take in a sunset. Unfortunately a late tropical downpour put paid to any sunset but it made the boat journey back to the pier great fun. ???? The journey out through the mangrove forest and the bay gave plenty of stunning photo opportunities, JB Island itself was actually underwhelming and a little busy but is actually only a small part of the trip. Aoom was our guide and she did a great job, she was well prepared with cold water for us and even had rain ponchos for the boat journey. The dinner was amazing, a full on banquet, fish, chicken, prawns, Tom yum soup, omelette.
