8-Day Camino Frances Pilgrimage Tour from Sarria to Santiago - 6 walking days

Don't book with an agency, especially this one. I have had the experience of sharp practice, disappointment, frustration and mind numbing inflexibility. Use booking.com or air b and b. The camino is a walking adventure and requires fixability. If you have a mobile phone, there is no reason to use an agency. The camino is a 4 to 8 week walking trip and weather, sickness or injury will cause you to change your plans. I booked a trip in 2020 and because of government restrictions the trip was postponed. Camino Ways refused to give me a rebate, and added deadlines, the latest is to fully rebook the trip by the end of November, this month and restrictions which means I am unable to arrange a new trip and I have lost the money I paid. I have made so many phone calls in which I thought the matter was arranged only to find out later a new deadline or restriction was added later. To add to the problems, I am based in the UK and Camino ways is based in Dublin which means they act under Irish law. If I had booked though a UK company UK law would mean I would have received a rebate because of C19 laws. I have given up on seeing my money again. I am putting this down to experience and writing this review so you may benefit from it .

Camino Ways was a fantastic and well organized company. I walked the Camino Frances from Sarria to Santiago over 10 days alone. The accommodations and luggage transfers were terrific. I would recommend this company to anyone who is thinking of doing this remarkable journey. Let them transport your backpack or bag so you can enjoy every step in comfort. I also arranged to have the botafumiero swing at a Pilgrim's mass which can be arranged if you are willing to pay... see the website for the Cathedral.

Dear CaminoWays, First I would like to thank you for your wonderful and efficient organization. Everything was handled accurately, on time and exactly as planned. Well done! We enjoyed walking the camino, knowing that we'll arrive at good places of accommodation, and that our luggage would be transferred as planned. There were , however, two exceptions: Hotel Villajardin at Portomarin and Pension Che at Castrofeito- were unfortunately not at the same standard as the others. The conditions of accommodation were not generous, and dinner was poor. On the other hand- 4 other places were outstandingly satisfying , both in accommodation and food: Casa Caxiguueiro at Sabenche, Pazo de ludeiro at Monterroso, pension Elena at Azura and Pombal rooms at Santiago. All are highly recommended! There are two small points that should have been mentioned in the documents: The transfer from the hotel Pombal in Santiago to the hotel we booked in Vut san Clemente in santiago- the transfer of luggage did not occur. You said we should have called the taxi company but it was not mentioned in the document. And last remark- the walking poles were confiscated in Madrid Airport. Maybe you should mention it.
