    Plitvice are known as a natural phenomenon because they keep changing through sedimentation of calcium carbonate and create special kinds of algae and moss, tufa or travertine which has been deposited and is still deposited to form the natural dams that separate the lakes. Since the process is ongoing today, just as it always has, new travertine barriers, curtains, stalactites, channels, and cascades are built as the existing ones keep changing. So it doesn’t matter if you have visited the lakes before, they probably look different now, so you can visit them again and never be bored. Besides the lakes, there are some interesting caves in which remains of prehistoric settlements have been found.

  • The tour includes prox. 5km of walking on uneven surfaces -please wear comfortable walking shoes (we visit highlights of both, the Lower Lakes and the Upper Lakes).

This was a wonderful and easy way to visit Plitvice Lakes National Park! Sanja was a wonderful guide and was very knowledgeable about the parks. George was a great driver and got us to and from the parks safely. I would highly recommend this for anyone considering visiting the national park.

This was an amazing experience. The lakes are truly beautiful - nothing like I’ve ever seen. This is the clearest water you will ever see. The scenery is also breathtaking. The tour company communicated everything well in advance and the journey was well organised and pleasant. Our guide Sanja was exceptional: not only did she provide us with interesting information about the towns en route (including some stories about Tesla and Luca Modrić) but she was very attentive to the group, looking after everyone and kept the perfect pace - not too quick but also ensuring the day didn’t drag on. Additionally, she provided lots of additional information about food and drink in Split, as well as things to do upon our return. Her English was perfect and she was very friendly. Overall, this experience is definitely value for money and I would recommend to solo travellers, couples, or those with children.

One of the best guided tours. Did the tour in end of Oct - Plitvice national park is breath taking in autumn. The colors of the trees and the lake were amazing. Sonja was our guide and she was so lovely. Very engaging, informative and always looking out for the group. Highly recommended.
