W really enjoyed this cooking experience, very well structured, from a very lady who has a wealth of experience in Sri Lanka cooking, how to use spices, and lots of useful practical tips on cooking. Highly recommend this cooking experience.

Started the day with a trip to the market with Sam to buy the vegetables we would need. We choose 4 different vegetable curries and chicken curry. Then back to get on with the cooking. Wasantha shared lots of her knowledge and tips about washing and cooking rice, preparing spices and how to get the best flavours. We cooked sweet pumkin, beetroot and okra curries; a potato and onion dish and a chicken curry. All of the ingredients and spices were very fresh, especially the homemade coconut milk. Once all of the cooking was done we sat down to a fabulous lunch. I would definitely recommend this experience

What an experience !!!! You start with a trip to the local market with her husband Sam, a real character who you feel like you've known for years who is so knowledgeable about the local area and community. After the market you go back to cook with Wathansa who is an amazing and passionate cook, she doesn't use recipes everything is cooked with years of knowledge and experience. You can tell she loves her job ! After cooking various dishes you get to eat them, there is a mountain of food, we choose to eat with our fingers following Sri Lankas tradition and to show our appreciation to Wathansa for cooking an amazing meal. You get loads of recipes to try to cook at home. Would highly recommend.
