The Cultural Triangle is the land which lies within the three ancient cities of Dambulla, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa, which bear testament to the great civilisation that existed here dating back to 4 BC. On seeing the extensive ruins here, and with a little imagination it is possible to re-create the life of the proud people that once lived here and developed this region into the masterpiece of creation that it once was. The numerous irrigation tanks covering hundreds of acres, with their waters held back with manually constructed packed earth bunds are proof that the ancient Kings were exceptionally advanced for their time. The Cultural Triangle holds the distinction of housing three of the seven World Heritage Sites in the country which are Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya.

People have different reasons for travel. Mine is to get to know a country, its culture, people, places. I could have spent longer in Sri Lanka but unfortunately had only one week. I have lived in nine different countries and Sri Lanka is the 153 country I have traveled to....I say this because I have taken hundreds of tours during my travels and had hundreds of guides. I can say with enthusiasm that my tour with Dinesh of SL Wide Tours was one of the best I have had and Dinesh himself is in the top 1% of tour guides I have had in my travels. Sri Lanka has it all, great food, fascinating history and culture, beautiful sights and incredibly friendly people. Any visitor to Sri Lanka will find this. What made my tour special was Dinesh. Somos 2 amigas que reservamos un tour por 10 días con Wide Tours, un equipo humano cálido y excelente. Desde el comienzo tuvimos comunicaciones con Ms Chamudini, a quien le debemos agradecer su paciencia para ir adaptando el tour a nuestros requerimientos. En cuanto a Ishan, nuestro chofer, fue impecable, por su amabilidad, recomendaciones, puntualidad.
