  • Røvær, Norway
    Røvær is an island group in Haugesund Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The islands lie off the mainland shore about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) northwest of the town of Haugesund. The 1.4-square-kilometre (0.54 sq mi) Røvær islands have about one hundred permanent residents (2014), as well as seasonal residents and visitors who rent vacation homes, stay at Røvær Seahouse (Røvær Sjøhus) or the newer Røvær Culture Hotel (Røvær Kulturhotell). The permanent residents who are not retired support themselves principally through farming, fishing, employment at the express boat service, teaching at the island's local school, working at the salmon fish farm, or by commuting to work on the mainland. During World War II, the island was occupied by German military forces, and there is still a concrete pillbox on Varden, the island's highest point.

    Feøy is a small island group in Karmøy municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The 1.3-square-kilometre (0.50 sq mi) island group lies west of the town of Haugesund and the island of Karmøy, southeast of the islands of Røvær, and northeast of the island of Utsira. The island has 49 permanent residents, plus a number of seasonal residents and visitors who rent vacation homes. The permanent residents who are not retired support themselves either through sheep farming, fishing, or by commuting to jobs on the mainland. There is an old wharf on Feøy that was converted into the Feøy Brygge, a small meeting house and restaurant that caters meetings and parties. During World War II, the Germans occupied the small island with troops because the area was an organizing site for resistance workers moving between Norway and Britain.

Fantastic experience. The guide was funny and told us lots of interesting information about the area. Loved visiting the little islands and finding out about them! Also loved going super fast accross the North Sea. Thanks Guys we thourghly enjoyed our trip with you!

Easy to book online before departure. The kiosk is easily found once ashore and from that moment there is a huge sense of professionalism given out. A short walk to the departure point then a quick lecture on safety and security gives you all the necessary reassurance. On with the waterproofs and life jacket and onto the RIB. Captain Vidar makes you feel safe from the moment you get on, and apart from being an expert driver he is a great host and raconteur. The two islands you visit are amazing and Vidar's facts make the trip more interesting. When the RIB is opened out on the North Sea it is invigorating and not the least bit cavalier or dangerous. As we got off bone dry I just wanted to do it all again it was that good. Just do this, well cheaper than P&O's excursion. One important fact, even on the warmest day wear gloves. Out on the sea when the speed goes up your hands just freeze.

Vidar was our guide for our rib ride 20th April 2023..very friendly guy, informative, safety guidelines were communicated clearly and felt safe. Vidar had plenty of knowledge about the islands and could answer all our questions. If you want a thrill ride (remember to take a warm hat gets cold at sea) highly recommend Viking adventures
