Stonehenge Summer Solstice Tour from London: Sunset or Sunrise Viewing

The tour was amazing and Stone henge was a spiritual experience. The double decker luxury bus was comfortable and the large windows provided good views of the English countryside . The tour left promptly at 12 noon and the tour guide-Steve - was informative and kept the commentary light. We stopped at Lacock and he gave us a short tour around the picturesque village and afterwards making sure he hadn’t left anyone behind before we went on our way to Stonehenge. We were glad to see that the bus has a toilet. Dinner was at a nice pub which provides vegetarian options as well as the usual fish and chips. The bus stops a short way from Stonehenge and there is a walkway to the site as well as a shuttle as the walk is 1.5 miles. Stonehenge is an amazing place as well as being spiritual and the sunset of course does not disappoint. We got several great pictures. The bus ride back to London was smooth- Florian is an expert driver. We reached our starting point at a little over midnight and Steve made sure everyone knew how to get back to their hotel. Really one can’t expect more!

Stonehenge on Solstice was amazing and it was brilliant to have a comfortable and reliable coach to travel in. My complaint is about the tour guide, James, who was judgmental and mocking of people’s beliefs. He was patronizing and misogynistic. He also kept praising the military and making jokes about being shot or bombed. Hilarious. If not for this specific tour guide, I would be giving 5 stars. The experience was otherwise amazing!!!

My husband and I enjoyed this tour very much. Our Tour Guide, Nicholas, was very knowledgeable in all of the stops and had a very warm sense of humor and great at story telling. We would also like to say that the bus driver, Gary, was also exceptional. Would highly recommend this tour. We experienced Stonehenge up close at different angles during sunset with less crowds too.
