Mount Bromo & Ijen & Tumpak Sewu Waterfall Tour (4D3N) - Hotel

We went as two families with teenage children and it was a great time spent. Appreciation to Sherry and Agung for making the arrangements for us. Special thanks to Hamim and Keceng, our guide and driver, for making our trip a really wonderful one. Hamim was able to customize the tour to some of our specifications (eg where we would like to eat, how much time we'd like to spend on certain parts of the tour). Keceng took us to every destination in a safe and very comfortable manner. Despite winding mountain roads, we never felt car-sick. They were patient and set the pace of the tour comfortably for us. We were constantly reminded not to be in a hurry, to just enjoy every part of the tour. This is necessary as there were parts of the journey that were tight on time. Yet, the reminder helped us to manage our personal pace and we worked things out well throughout the 4 days and 3 nights. The local guides (Yanto, Nuk, Lucky and Nasir) that were engaged to be with us for the Tumpak Sewu waterfall and the Mount Ijen hike were nothing short of professional. Our safety was their highest priority and they patiently took each of us down the more difficult portions, never getting frustrated if we needed more time to catch our breaths or to navigate certain terrain. As a result, we could freely be ourselves (including our fitness levels) and the experience was simply a wonderful one. We highly recommend going with Tour Mount Bromo and the guides they have attached to us.

Amazing experience, highly recommend! Day 1, we started off going to Madakaripura Waterfall and spent a fantastic day walking around the waterfalls. We traveled by van but took an awesome motorbike ride to the short walk. Make sure to bring a poncho and secure shoes to walk in that are waterproof. Stayed at Atria which was a decent stay. Day 2 we woke up very early to visit Tumpak Sewu Waterfall which was absolutely magnificent! We were greeted by a beautiful rainbow hovering by the falls. Highly recommend wearing clothing that can get completely soaked and a plastic bag for your phone. This hike was really fun but requires good water shoes or hiking shoes that can get soaked. We also checked out the caves! Stayed at bromo hotel which was not the best but we only stayed for 3 hrs. Day 3 woke up again very early to see mount bromo. It was very cold so bring lots of warm layers, we ended up buying the toques they offered which were quite warm and great souvenir! The view was pretty cloudy but the sunrise above the clouds was still awesome! We took a jeep to the sea of sand and rode some horses to the crater of the volcano. Stayed at el hotel royale which was definitely the best hotel! Day 4 went to see Ijen and it was a very dark hike and quite difficult to see in the dark. We had to wear gas masks as the sulphur burns. Not our most favourite part of the trip but the hike coming down the other side was magneficient seeing the green lush mountains. Overall an amazing trip and so glad we took it! Sherry the coordinator was super helpful throughout the process. All our guides across the activities were really helpful and so wonderful to connect with. Thank you again to Yayak our driver for making this trip so special! He introduced us to so many Indonesia snacks and food and transported us safely every day! Thank you for your jokes and we will miss you dearly!
